The weekly roundup – Rivalry

Blue versus green.

The age-old rivalry between Ateneo and La Salle countinued last Saturday, with the Eagles surviving a last minute run from the Archers, 81-72. The two schools are now on opposite sides of the spectrum, with Ateneo enjoying a 2-0 advantage, while La Salle is still looking for its first win.

Two players made an impact in last Saturday’s match-up. For Ateneo, it was Keifer Ravena, the highly touted rookie dubbed as “The Phenom”. Ravena scored 22 of his 24 points in the first half of the game, overshadowing a scoreless debut in their first game against Adamson. For La Salle, it was LA Revilla, the comeback kid who was sidelined for two years due to diabetes and hyperthyroidism. Revilla has averaged 20 points in La Salle’s first two games, and has proven that persistence can go a long way. Even with the loss, it was Revilla who kept the game close until the final buzzer for the Archers.
