The weekly roundup – A test of human resilience

Our prayers go out to the people of Japan.

The relationship between human beings and Mother Nature can get a bit tense at times; arguments can occur, and disastrous results follow. Most of the time we wonder whether we’re at fault, but sometimes Mother Nature is just looking to hand it to us for some whimsical reason we cannot understand. In any case, like in any relationship, there is someone resilient enough to pick up what’s left, to mend it, to make it better than it was before. We both hope and know that Japan, with the rest of the world’s help, will pick up the pieces. If there’s any good the tsunami tragedy has brought, I’d like it to be the inspiring fortitude of the human will to survive.
